Jesus taught that the kingdom of God is quite different from the world in which we know. Much of life seems to be about how much money we can make, how high we can climb the ladder in our careers, and the legacy of greatness we leave behind. While the world clamors for and celebrates the greatest, the most wealthy, and the most powerful—the Kingdom of God celebrates the least of these, protects the poor, and uplifts the powerless. Throughout the gospel accounts, Jesus taught his disciples that the Kingdom of God is upside-down—it flips the conventions of this world and changes the scorecard of a life well-lived.
