First Presbyterian Church in Morganton, NC, is seeking a part-time Office Assistant to assist with daily administrative operations of the church. Under the direct supervision of the Director of Operations, the Office Assistant is responsible for answering phones and providing a warm welcome for all guests of FPC. Hours: Monday - Thursday, 9 AM - 1 PM Pay: $16 - $18 per hour
Answer and direct all incoming calls and guests.
Work with volunteers on various projects and tasks.
Accept all incoming mail, deliveries, and packages.
Assist with bulk mailing projects for the church, including preparation and shipping.
Update church management software (Planning Center) with current member information.
Coordinate usage of facilities by internal and external users.
Provide general assistance and customer service to inquiries and problems.
Assist with ordering office supplies.
Scan and organize documents and records for digital retention.
Provide general administrative support for the ministry team.
Other administrative duties and projects as assigned by supervisor and pastor.
Excellent written & oral communication skills are a must.
Strong interpersonal and customer service skills, an ability to build relationships with a wide variety of personalities.
Comfortable operating and troubleshooting a wide variety of office equipment and technology.
Organized & creative, with a strong ability to multi-task.
Self-starter, motivated, with the ability to take initiative and prioritize tasks.
